With a date now set for gyms, pools and sports facilities to reopen, hairdressers doing a fantastic job at sorting out our lockdown hair and beauty salons able to get back to what they do best, life is starting to return to some form of normality.
On Saturday, it is Armed Forces Day and ordinarily we would be celebrating the service of our soldiers, sailors, and air men and air women with parades and other celebrations, as well as saluting the service of our Armed Forces veterans.
Levels of infection in the Cheddar Valley and across Mendip are now incredibly low. There haven’t been any Covid-19 cases in Mendip for a while and there have been hardly any cases reported in Sedgemoor.
The death of George Floyd in the United States has brought racism into sharp focus on both sides of the Atlantic. Around the country, tens of thousands of people have protested as part of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Unsurprisingly, the Government’s focus over the past few months has been Covid-19. It is of course the main effort and consumes a huge amount of ministerial time but there is still lots going on in Government both nationally and locally.
